The "Kulturkabinett" (KKT) is a sociocultural center in Stuttgart Bad Cannstatt, the largest district of the state capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart. Since 2007, as well as presenting a range of approximately 135 theater shows each year, including close to 60 shows for children and young adults and around 25 cabaret and variety shows, the KKT has been running frequent theater-training projects. The focus of these projects is the cultural education of children and young adults for the promotion and development of artistic, linguistic and social competencies. Additionally we provide support for emerging artists in the area of cabaret and variety performance.
Community work is a focal point for the "Kulturkabinett".
It is the organizations wish to inspire and stimulate communication and networking between citizens. Along with regional networks the KKT is actively involved in cultural associations, as well as being engaged in political commitiees such as the "Fachbeirat Kulturelle Bildung" (Council for Cultural Education), and is associated with European cultural institutions and initiatives.
The Kultukabinett also regularly creates projects dealing with the themes of racism, tolerance and the promotion of democracy.
As well as intercultural evenings, writers workshops and exhibitions, the KKT continues to be a supporter for a wide array of sociocultural theater groups; theater for young adults, amateur theater and intercultural and mixed-generation projects, among others.
